In Which No One Ever Gets Over Middle School



If I ever become famous for my writing, I certainly hope my middle and high school misdeeds don't come back to haunt me. I really don't want to rehash my one trip to the principal's office in ninth grade.

My mom just told me about how when I got in trouble in seventh grade for being argumentative with an english teacher the school was not really that mad because they were like "well, girls don't generally challenge faculty figures or cause conflict, so we're reluctant to chastise her for self-expression."

I was like, "you couldn't have told me this THEN?"
